Titanium And Versatility, That’s The New Tinto Brewer

Everyone loves a versatile brewer. It’s one of the reasons the Origami Dripper has taken the pour-over world by storm (that and they are gorgeous). The thinking goes: the more versatility in how you use a brewer, the more control you have over the output. And this theory gets put to the test with the new Tinto (stylized Tintō) pour-over system. The titanium dripper takes a new approach to controlling flow rate, and it’s live on Kickstarter now.

Made of “99.9% aerospace-grade titanium,” the super-light brew device is similar in shape to the aforementioned Origami. Where Tinto differs in the interchangeable filter disks on the bottom of the brewer. Coming in hole sizes of .2mm, .5mm, and .8mm—smaller holes for lighter coffee and larger ones for more developed roasts—the discs aid in controlling the flow rate of the water through the coffee bed. And the modular design allows for easy switching between them.

Tinto can also be used filterless, allowing more oils through and creating a more robust, French press-like cup.

Per the Kickstarter, Tinto is also useful at things like filter juice, which I guess would be useful for my watermelon iced coffee and espresso sunrises. They also claim that because it is titanium it is hypoallergenic and packable for outdoor adventures (I think at this point we need to put a moratorium on calling coffee brewers portable just because they are small).

Still with six weeks left in the campaign, Tinto has already earned more than five times its $3,000 goal. Still there are many rewards to be had, including an early bird deal that includes the dripper and discs for $69, $30 off the retail price. Or if you want it all, you can get the premium brew kit that includes the dripper, discs, a serving tray, stirring rod, and cup (all titanium) for $199, 39% off the $196 MSRP. Rewards are expected to ship out in April of 2026.
